Tip of the week: Use a different strong password for every important account
If one password opens your email, your social media and your mobile money app, a single leak can ruin your business. Thieves try stolen passwords on many services, hoping you used the same one.
Create strong passwords: long, ideally a phrase of several unrelated words with numbers, such as a sentence only you would know. Avoid birthdays, phone numbers, names of children or simple words like "password123".
Prioritise the accounts that matter most: your email, mobile money, bank, social media pages and online shop. Your email is critical, because it is used to reset the others.
A password manager on your phone can store many passwords safely, and you remember only one master phrase. If you prefer paper, keep a notebook in a safe place at home, never in the shop and never labelled "passwords".
Never share passwords with friends, staff or anyone claiming to be support.
This week: change the passwords of your email and mobile money to new, unique ones.
