Tip of the week: Secure your social media business pages with a backup admin
If your business page is run from one personal account and that account is lost, you may lose the page, the customers and the content. It happens often.
Protect your pages:
- Use a strong password and two-step login on the main account
- Add a second trusted admin where the platform allows it
- Keep your recovery email and phone number current
- Review who has access regularly and remove people who left
- Never give your password to freelancers; use the platform's tools to grant limited access
A clothes seller in Zanzibar whose page holds thousands of photos and her customer messages should have a backup admin, such as a trusted family member.
Watch for strange login alerts and unknown devices. If you see one, log out of all devices and change the password.
If you hire a team to manage your pages, such as LiberLite Account Management, agree on how access is given and removed, and ask for regular reports.
This week: check who has access to your business page and add a backup admin.
