Tip of the week: Back up your photos, contacts and business files
Phones get lost, dropped in water or stolen. Without a backup, years of customer contacts, product photos and records vanish in a moment.
Choose a simple routine:
- Turn on automatic backup for contacts, either to your email account or the phone's cloud service
- Back up photos and videos to an online album or a second device
- Copy important documents, like registration papers and price lists, to cloud storage or a memory stick
- Keep one copy away from the shop
Check weekly that backups work. Open the backup on another device or look at the online folder to confirm your files are there.
A bakery in Moshi with hundreds of cake photos and customer orders in her phone should not trust a single device.
Protect backups with a strong password and two-step login too.
Delete unneeded files before backing up to save space and bundles. Backing up on Wi-Fi saves data costs.
Teach staff to save files into the shared folder rather than only on their phones.
This week: back up your contacts and photos, and check that you can open them from another device.
